Which processor version should I download?

Choose Intel/AMD 64-bit for nearly all modern PCs with Intel or AMD processors. Choose ARM64 for ARM-based Linux devices. The recommendation at the top of this page uses information made available by your browser, but you can always change it manually.

Which Linux distributions are supported?

WriteAlt provides DEB installers for Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pop!_OS, and related systems; packages for Arch Linux; and portable builds for Fedora and other modern graphical Linux distributions.

Do I need a WriteAlt account?

A WriteAlt account and API key are required for AI generation. You can create an API key from your WriteAlt dashboard. Image organization, conversion, optimization, and local history run through the desktop application.
